I’m really not sure that Xion was going to escape being a nerd since daddy knows everything about computers and mommy reads and writes. Nerdy is a good thing though, right? 😉
Today the little guy had his very first trip to the bookstore. It didn’t take him long to find a few books that made him smile.
I need to add to my library!
There we so many adorable books for the little guy but we did decide on the finger puppet one since it made him smile the most. We’re sort of addicted to his smile.
Of course we couldn’t leave without a few goodies of our own.
Gee, I wonder which books belong to whom?
Date night for Russ and Woz tonight! Xion is going to spend the evening with Grandpa and Nana Flint before they head off for a cruise tomorrow and won’t see their grandson for 16 days. Whatever will they do?!
Dad Flint sent this to us earlier this week and we thought it would be a perfect way to start off today’s post. It makes us smile every time we see it.
1980 and 2011
This is a pretty awesome picture isn’t it? The one on the left is Russ and Mom Flint shortly after he was born. Directly next to that is Woz and little Xion in almost the exact same pose. I think it’s safe to say that Mom and Woz have something in common and that’s knowing there is nothing in this whole world that compares to what it’s like to look at your child for the first time and how amazing it is to be a mom.
Fast forward a few decades for Russ and Mom and just a couple of months for Woz and Xion and we get a picture that makes us smile just as much.
Mother's Day 2011
Russ and Xion made sure to spoil Woz today. Things started off with a yummy breakfast (including a Mexican Latte…yum!) and then followed by a family Skype with Woz’s family back in Ohio. Everyone oooh-ed and ahhh-ed over Xion (of course!) and it was great talking with everyone. It’s hard being so far away from them. 😦
Woz got lots of cards and gorgeous flowers!
The perfect first Mother's Day for Woz 🙂
This one said it best:
Motherhood according to Pooh
Russ and Xion surprised Woz by taking her on a picnic lunch at the Elena Gallegos Picnic Area. It was perfect and gorgeous.
Yeah, he's cool.
Woz loves these hats on her guys! 🙂
The reason today was so very special for Woz:
One very happy mama!
Woz couldn’t have asked for a better day and will never forget her first Mother’s Day. She’s also sending big hugs to her mommy who, although is no longer with us, is remembered every single day.
Last but not least, the very first Flint Family Foot Shot. 😀
Quite the challenge to snap with Xion's moving feet!
Happy Mother’s Day!
It’s hard to believe that Grandpa Gato and Grandma Maria’s trip has already come and gone! Just over a week ago, a VERY excited new grandpa got to meet his first grandchild for the very first time and I don’t think there were too many (waking) moments during that 4 day visit he didn’t spend adoring his grandson. 😀
We had a great visit. Lots and lots of good food, a trip to Santa Fe, and lots of time with our little X man.
Grandpa Gato was a pro at feeding Xion right away:
Nom nom nom.
Did we say there was a lot of food? We stopped at Route 66 Diner after a day trip and even though everyone was stuffed, the giant banana split was ordered anyway. It was HUGE!
Whose idea was this anyway?
Before we needed to be rolled out.
Xion surprised Grandpa Gato by wearing a Green Lantern onesie. Green Lantern is Grandpa Gato’s favorite!
Good looks obviously run in this family. 😉
I just love this little face!
Oh those cheeks!
Last but not least, three generations together:
What was that about good looks? 😉
As always, the visit went entirely TOO FAST and we can’t wait for them to come visit again. Xion loved meeting his grandparents and says he’s already looking forward to the holly days when we’ll all be together again. (Not soon enough! *sniffle sniffle*).
